The feast of Saints Peter and Paul is celebrated on June 29.  One of  the best places to honor and remember these saints is in the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.   Pope Francis said mass here in September 2015 when he visited Philadelphia during the World Meeting of Families.

A unique portrait of the Holy Family was commissioned for the World Meeting of Families and hung on the altar during the Papal Mass.  This portrait shows an extended family.  In addition to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, the portrait also includes Mary’s parents, St. Anne and St. Joachim.  The gold trim in the painting is similar to the gold trim of the altar where the painting hung.  The painting is the work of Pennsylvania artist, Neilson Carlin.
