Rosaries Honoring St. Katharine Drexel

5 May

medals1  On May 3, 2016 the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament announced that they plan to sell the 44 acre estate in Bensalem, Pennsylvania which presently serves as the mother house of their order and a shrine to their foundress, St. Katharine Drexel.

Katharine Drexel, daughter of one of the most prominent families of Philadelphia, used her family’s wealth to establish a religious order that has served the community, especially minority populations, for nearly 125 years.   When she was canonized in 2000, Katharine Drexel became only the second American-born saint.

medals6  The Rosary Collectors have been proud to periodically exhibit their collection at the shrine and thank the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament for their service.
