Tell Your Rosary Story

photo Is there a rosary that has special meaning for you? When I was a child, my grandmother carried a sterling silver rosary.  She kept it in a blue velvet zippered pouch which she carried in her purse.  Today, I have a collection of over 900 rosaries which I exhibit in churches and schools but my grandmother’s rosary is the most cherished.

Mother Teresa received many beautiful gifts as she traveled the world.  Her personal rosary, however, was made of  Job’s Tears, a seed of her native India.

Do you carry a rosary with special personal meaning?  Tell us your rosary story.

Your grandmother’s rosaries are beautiful. I don’t think that I have ever seen those.

In 1948, my mother, Gloria Brady Hoffner, bought the sterling silver rosary for her mother, Helen Brady, in a jewelry store in Philadelphia. That purchase began my mother’s interest in rosaries and was the start of the collection she has today.
