Pope Francis Rosary with Tau Cross

5 Jul

popef8 As America prepares for Pope Francis’ visit in September, Catholics around the world can reflect upon his devotion to the rosary.  The rosary made in Italy and sold by the Galleria Savelli has a center medal and Tau cross that honor Pope Francis.

popef3The reverse of the center medal shows the pope’s coat of arms.  Symbols of the Vatican are depicted.

popef4The rosary has a Tau Cross.  Patterned after the Greek letter T, the Tau resembles the sign that the Israelites made on their doors in Egypt on the night of the Passover.  The Tau is also a symbol of St. Francis and is worn by Franciscan priests.  The Tau cross on this rosary is inscribed with the words, ” Pax et Bonum” ( peace and goodness).
